The Mogollon Rim is the upper plateau that rises over 2,000 feet above the valley below. (Payson is still at 5,000 feet!) The highest point we crossed on the Rim was 7,800 feet.

It was a very windy day, but we found a campsite back in the pines that offered some shelter. The overnight low was in the 40's - not nearly as cold as we had expected!

The GoneCamper minivan conversion allows us to explore very economically. The Rim Road is gravel, but a minivan can easily drive the road, especially with the traction of front-wheel drive. We made a loop of about 265 miles, saw five elk, and only a small handful of other people. GoneCamper gives us the maximum flexibility and we don't sacrifice comfort!

Contact GoneCamper to schedule the construction and delivery of YOUR minivan (or trailer, Suburban or full-size van) camping conversion!
