Hiking is available around a large waterbody with many varieties of wildlife to be seen. These include occupied beaver lodges and several species of waterfowl such as ducks, geese, terns and sometimes pelicans. Deer and moose wander through the area. Coyotes can be heard and seen on occasion. In late fall, bald eagles occupy the tallest of the trees for several days as they pass through on their journey south to winter habitat.
This is a working cattle ranch. You will see cattle and llamas at close range in the pasture surrounding the parking area. Next door is a working bison ranch.
Local worker parking, fall hunter camping or other specialty groups welcome.
